Selector pins and locking pins for fitness equipment

A selector pin lets you choose the weight on a multi-gym, while locking and adjustment pins hold movable components in place. Here you can find replacement selector pins, lock pins and other pins for a range of fitness machines. Always check the brand, model, dimensions and intended use before ordering.

What is a selector pin?

A selector pin is inserted through a hole in a strength machine’s weight stack. The pin connects the selected weight plates to the lifting rod so that you can set the training resistance. The pin’s diameter and length must be correct for safe use of the weight stack.

Selector pin, locking pin or adjustment pin?

Not every pin on a fitness machine serves the same purpose. A selector pin is used to select a weight. A locking pin, lock pin or adjustment pin secures a seat, backrest, arm or another adjustable component, for example. These pins are not necessarily interchangeable.

How do you choose the right pin?

Check the brand and exact model designation of your fitness machine and compare the new pin with the original component. Check the diameter, usable length, handle shape and any locking mechanism. For a selector pin, also check that it can be inserted fully through the weight stack and lifting rod.

Are selector pins universal?

Many selector pins and locking pins are intended for a specific machine or product range. A pin with approximately the same dimensions is therefore not automatically suitable. A pin that is too thin, too short or incorrectly shaped can cause play or fail to lock securely.

When should you replace a selector pin?

Replace a pin if it is bent, cracked or heavily worn, no longer fits fully into the hole or does not lock securely. Also check the cord, handle and any spring mechanism. Do not use the fitness machine if the weight stack or an adjustable component cannot be secured reliably.

Using locking pins and selector pins safely

Before every exercise, insert the pin fully into the designated hole and check that it is secure. Do not adjust a loaded component during an exercise and never use a bolt, screwdriver or another improvised object as a replacement. If you are unsure which pin you need, you can send us the brand, model number and photos of the machine and existing pin.
