Which wheels can you find in this category?

This category includes different types of wheels and rollers, each with its own function. Transport wheels help move a fitness machine, while seat rollers and guide wheels form part of a moving mechanism. You can also find some wheels that guide a belt, cable or another component.

Transport wheels for fitness equipment

Many treadmills, fitness bikes, cross trainers and strength machines have transport wheels at the front or back. Tilting the machine allows you to move it on these wheels. A cracked, deformed or seized transport wheel may damage the floor or make moving the machine more difficult.

Seat rollers and guide wheels

Seat rollers allow a seat or another moving component to travel along a frame or rail. Guide wheels keep a cable, belt or movement mechanism in the correct position. Wear may lead to play, jerking, extra noise or movement that is no longer even.

Are fitness equipment wheels universal?

Most wheels and guide rollers are not universal. Alongside outside diameter and width, shaft diameter, bearing size, shape and mounting position are important. A wheel with the same diameter may still be unsuitable if the hub, bearing or mounting differs.

How do you find the right replacement wheel?

First check the fitness machine’s brand and model number. Then compare the diameter, width, shaft hole and mounting method with the existing component. Also check the wheel’s position and function. A part number from the manual or exploded diagram generally offers the greatest certainty.

Check bearings, shafts and rails too

Some rollers are supplied with a bearing, while others use the existing bearing or a separate shaft. If rotation is uneven, check not only the wheel but also the bearing, shaft and surface on which the roller moves. Dirt, damage or incorrect alignment can cause similar symptoms.

Replacing and testing safely

Make sure the fitness machine is stable and support heavy or movable parts before removing a wheel. Install spacer washers, shafts and fixing hardware in the same sequence as the original component. Test movement without a load after installation and check that the wheel turns freely without excessive play.
